Dombresky: 5 Tracks to Hear Before His Atlanta Show
A sax hook, a little piano, and a disco detour. Five records to put on before Dombresky's October 17 night at District.
A good hook can do a lot of work. For Dombresky, it might be a saxophone, a clipped vocal or a piano line you want to follow back onto the floor. The French DJ and producer is booked at District Atlanta on Saturday, October 17. These five records give you a few different reasons to go.
Start with two solo tracks, follow him into collaborations, then finish with a September 2026 release from his Disco Dom project. This is a way into the catalog; the Atlanta set will be his to choose.
1. “Soul Sacrifice” — start with the sax
Dombresky
One loop, a kick, a bassline and a saxophone. In his SoundCloud interview, Dombresky describes building the idea in his room in Los Angeles and asking a friend whether the sax was too much. That little story makes this a useful first stop: a memorable musical phrase can carry the record without an elaborate setup.
Listen for the relationship between the sax hook and the rhythm underneath. It's the entry point for the jazz-flavored side of his house music.
2. “Simple Hit” — let the groove do the work
Dombresky
The title fits the idea. Dombresky told Gray Area that he held onto this track because he thought it was too simple to release. His manager encouraged him to put it out anyway.
Put it beside “Soul Sacrifice” and pay attention to how much a short vocal phrase can do. This selection is about restraint: a hook and a rhythm worth staying with, without needing to pile on more. If your favorite part of a club night is settling into the beat, start here.
3. “El Beso” — follow the percussion
Dombresky & Crusy feat. Mathieu Ruz
Here the collaboration opens another door. Toolroom's release notes place “El Beso” in Latin-influenced tech house, with percussion, a weighty groove and Mathieu Ruz's vocal melody sharing the focus.
Listen past the main beat to the smaller rhythmic details around it. The artist-uploaded extended mix gives that rhythm extra room. This is the pick for the percussion, and a reminder that his catalog reaches beyond the saxophone record that may have introduced you to him.

4. “Do You Remember” — make room for the melody
Dombresky feat. Camden Cox
For the piano-and-vocal side, try this 2021 collaboration. Toolroom describes piano chords, synths and percussion beneath Camden Cox's voice, with the vocal also cut into a processed loop.
That gives you two things to follow: the melody you can hold onto and the voice becoming part of the track's texture. Put this after “El Beso” for a change of emphasis, from percussion to a more song-centered hook. The linked version is Toolroom's original extended mix.

5. “There is Life” — take the disco detour
Disco Dom & Dombresky
Finish with something current. Released September 18, 2026, “There is Life” comes from Disco Dom, Dombresky's alias for exploring soul, funk and disco. Insomniac's release campaign points to bass guitar, wah-wah guitar and synth textures beneath a vocal about finding life in a loving relationship.
Those ingredients make this our disco stop: listen for how the guitar and bass move together. It adds another color to the five-record introduction.
