Dombresky gives Saturday a house-music anchor. Around it, Atlanta's October 15–18 weekend reaches from Interpol at the Eastern to a Latin dance studio social, with vampires and an after-hours aquarium visit bringing Halloween into the picture early.

This is the second Sin List: seven nights we'd put on your radar, each with a specific reason to go. Start with the Saturday headliner, then follow the rest from Thursday through Sunday.

1. Dombresky at District

Saturday, October 17 · Doors 10 p.m. · District Atlanta · 21+

The French DJ and producer brings his house catalog to District's Therapy Sessions. Start with the sax hook in “Soul Sacrifice,” then follow our five-track listening guide through piano, Latin percussion and his Disco Dom alias.

Why it's on the list: There are several ways into his music before you reach the room. A recognizable hook, a vocal record or a disco detour gives you something to follow beyond the name on the flyer. This is our Saturday anchor for a night built around house.

2. Interpol with DIIV at the Eastern

Thursday, October 15 · Show 8 p.m.; doors 7 p.m. · The Eastern · All ages

Interpol's North America Tour opens a two-night Atlanta stop with DIIV on the bill. Our pick is the Thursday show, giving the weekend a live-band beginning.

Why it's on the list: For atmospheric guitars, this is the bill: Interpol alongside DIIV's shoegaze. Their pairing gives you a musical reason to arrive for both bands and start the weekend with a live show.

3. Haunted Seas After Hours at Georgia Aquarium

Friday, October 16 · 7:30–10:30 p.m. · Georgia Aquarium · 18+

The aquarium's October after-hours edition combines a live DJ, seasonal décor and access to the galleries. Admission includes two drink tickets usable for cocktails or nonalcoholic drinks; alcohol is 21+.

Why it's on the list: The ocean setting gives an early Halloween night its own visual world. You can move between music and exhibits, making this a useful pick for a group that wants more to explore during the evening.

4. Club de Vampiros: Baby Bat Night II

Friday, October 16 · 11 p.m. on the organizer's ticket listing · Sunset Atlanta · 18+

Sxft Chains and Astrid Aesthetic lead a night of darkwave and post-punk at Sunset. Club de Vampiros' own event listing also promises performers, a market with locally made jewelry and clothing, and themed cocktails and mocktails.

Why it's on the list: The music and local vendors give the vampire theme something to stand on. This is an October pick with a particular sound and a locally organized party behind it, before Halloween weekend fills the calendar.

The organizer's ticket page and event description agree on 11 p.m.; its RA calendar header says 10 p.m. Confirm doors before going.

5. Mambo Mayhem at Fire & Ice Studios

Saturday, October 17 · 9:30 p.m.–2:30 a.m. · Fire & Ice Studios

Fire & Ice's monthly studio social opens three rooms for dancing at 3201 Atlanta Industrial Parkway NW, suite 302B. The Latin dance studio lists this October edition for the third Saturday of the month.

Why it's on the list: Atlanta's dance community deserves a place alongside the touring headliners. A studio social makes participation the draw, and three rooms give this Saturday its own scale and setting.

6. WetWare presents Aurora Halal at Aisle 5

Saturday, October 17 · Confirm start time with the venue · Aisle 5 · All ages

WetWare brings the producer, DJ and creator of Mutual Dreaming and Sustain-Release to Little Five Points. The official event biography emphasizes the darker, psychedelic side of her electronic music; the organizer's RA listing bills a live performance and also names Atlanta artists Monoman and umenu.

Why it's on the list: The advertised live format and Atlanta support give this Saturday booking a local connection. Aurora's work building underground parties and a festival adds another reason to follow her into the room.

The ticket page lists 9 p.m., while Aisle 5's calendar lists 9:30 p.m. Confirm the starting time before going.

7. Hiss Golden Messenger with Sam Amidon

Sunday, October 18 · Show 8 p.m.; doors 7 p.m. · Terminal West · All ages

The I'm People Tour reaches Terminal West with Sam Amidon on the bill. Hiss Golden Messenger is M.C. Taylor's musical project, rooted in Americana and folk and shaped by personal storytelling.

Why it's on the list: Taylor's songs put storytelling at the center of our Sunday pick. With Amidon also on the bill, this is a live-music finish for people who want a weekend night built around songwriters.
